Multimedia and lighting system in the Pertosa-Auletta Caves (SA)

At the particular site of national tourist attraction, Sa.Gest was responsible for the creation of lighting sets with the help of audio tracks and movies in order to make the visit to the cave much more impressive.

The infrastructure includes about 200 rgbw led lighting fixtures with dmx control and 12 video projectors in IP 65 enclosures. A audio system dividing the cave into 15 zones with independent controls with IP65 enclosures. The special feature of the whole installed system is that it can be dynamically configured during sightseeing or during theatrical performances.

All audio/video scenes can be managed remotely through the smartphones of the cave guides who have been given appropriate training. To safeguard the nature of the cave and its beauty sensors have been installed to detect humidity, temperature, radeon, pressure, wind speed. These data are continuously compared with those derived from interdicted areas in the cave so as to verify abnormal alterations. The lamps installed in the Pertosa-Auletta Caves are engineered by the Sa.Gest group company, Lums srl. A specially made LED from OSRAM with superior robustness and low infrared and ultraviolet emission was used to safeguard the environment in the cave by preventing plant growth on the rock face.
